A fun one this. Another site for the irrepressable children’s charity, the Hackney Pirates. This time around the kids were asked to supply their answers, in the form of YouTube clips, to questions posed to them by adults about their childhoods. They then contributed written pieces based on their research into the childhoods of generations gone by.
The site is full of animation, with the questions appearing in clouds in the sky, and the research topics represented by cartoons below the sea. In the middle, an animated pirate ship bobs along and everything loads by AJAX for a super-smooth experience.
If you’re wondering why “being cool” is represented by a sailor’s hat, just wait a few years. You’ll be amazed.
